About the Fulbright Association NCAC

The Fulbright Association NCAC is the largest and most active Fulbright Association chapter. The “National Capital Area Chapter” embraces Washington, DC, Northern Virginia and Maryland (including Baltimore and Annapolis).  We organize approximately 36 events every year, including our signature Spring Embassy Gala, an Annual Banquet, a Holiday Party, and a Fall Embassy Event in conjunction with the State Department’s International Education Week. Other activities range from happy hours to concerts and even work with Habitat for Humanity.

Our dynamic Young Professionals group (FAYP) also organizes numerous social events and professional development activities, which are simultaneously educational, enlightening, and entertaining. Our membership includes currently visiting Fulbright scholars and students, who participate in our many activities and whose American experience we work to enrich. Recognizing that we are fortunate to live in such an international and dynamic region, we take advantage of Washington’s rich cultural diversity and regularly partner with the city’s diplomatic community. From Fulbright.org

“The Fulbright Association engages current and former Fulbright exchange participants in lifelong experiences that advance international understanding through volunteer service to communities, people-to-people diplomacy, and dialogue on global issues. Fulbright Association members form the active constituency for Fulbright exchanges to ensure that they continue to benefit future generations. Established on February 27, 1977, the Fulbright Association is a  private, nonprofit organization whose members are Fulbright Program alumni and friends of international education. The Association supports and promotes international educational and cultural exchange and the ideal most associated with the Fulbright name — mutual understanding among the peoples of the world.”
