FAYP – Fulbright Association Young Professionals

Fulbright Association Young Professionals (FAYP) is an initiative that helps the NCAC better engage young professional Fulbright alumni by organizing events aimed at young professionals and "young at heart" members. Our programming is designed to both promote professional development and facilitate networking among young professionals both within the Fulbright Association and across organizations. Past FAYP events have featured Members of Congress, members of the White House National Security Council (NSC), and television journalists and producers from the Voice of America (VOA).
FAYP manages two basic series:
  • The Next Steps Series: This series is designed to help chapter members get a better idea of what they want to do in terms of next steps for their careers and studies through panel discussions and informal meetings with professionals more advanced in their careers. One 2011 panel, for example, featured Fulbright alumni who shared their insights on careers in law and the experience of law school. Upcoming events in the Next Steps series will feature discussions with Fulbright alumni on International Relations programs and also Fulbright alumni who have pursued careers on Capitol Hill.
  • The Emerging Leaders Series (ELS): This series  includes breakfasts and dinners with emerging Washington leaders who are willing to share their insights on professional development. Previous speakers have included White House officials, U.S. Congressmen, and a Peace Corps organization executive.
